MAKER MAGIC 2023 - JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA
Maker Magic: Cache Making in Jozi, South Africa
Instead of running a Cub Pack meeting, like I usually do on a Saturday morning, I will be hosting a Maker Magic Event instead! That's because scouts is on Term 2 break *wink....
Come and join in the fun of creativity and make your own ingenious geocache.
Let's share the magic of ideas, tips and tricks.
Nadia will be there selling pancakes and there will be coffee and tea available. This is a bit of fundraising towards spending money for her pending trip to the World Scout Jamboree. There is no obligation to buy anything, but it is available should you choose to support her.
DATE: Saturday, 24 June 2023
TIME: 08h30 to 11h30
VENUE: 1st Bryanston Scout Hall
WHAT TO BRING: An apron or old shirt so that you don't get paint onto your clothing, your ideas, any material that you would like to explore with to create something new and different.
1. We will be exploring general cache hides. We will share examples of typical urban caches and see why it is important to know and understand the type of cache container and how to ensure the logsheet is kept dry. We will create a general cache which will be possible to be hidden in an urban environment.
2. We will be exploring special cache hides. We will share examples of special caches, which is where the creativity comes in. For special caches, the hiding place is very important, to ensure it does not get muggled. We will have materials available and will assist you to create a special cache.
3. We will discuss the importance of maintenance and responsibility of being a Cache Owner.
Looking forward to sharing a productive and fun-filled morning with you!
