Geocache Description:

The Balfour Face FSR has intrigued us since we found the cache by MJONES280 at the start of the road a couple of years ago.  The weather was good so we packed up the camper and the quad and headed out for two fun nights of camping.

THE ROAD:  At the time the caches were hidden there was no active logging or equipment on the road even though the sign says differently..
The main road is is doable in most SUV's
Some of the caches on the "side trips" have waterbars so HIGH CLEARANCE IS RECOMMENDED but there is no fear of pinstriping and you will find good turn arounds at the end of the roads.

THE VIEWS: There are several view points along the various roads - some are better than others but you will get to see the world below from  several different angles.
You will be treated to great views of Procter, Harrop, and the Kootenay River, or perhaps Pilot Bay, the Ferry Landing, and if your timing is right the Kootenay Lake Ferry.

THE CAMPING: The camping is "very rustic".  There are no outhouses or picnic tables.  Just flat areas with views for your enjoyment.
VP #8 - The Best of the Best would have been our first choice but we discovered it too late and it would have taken a bit of work to get our truck and camper there.

VP #9 - 5km Camp Almost - is where we stayed - a nice large flat area.

We did see a couple of bears so BE BEAR AWARE as always.

THIS CACHE is NOT on the Main Road, HIGH CLEARANCE is REQUIRED and there is the possibility of PINSTRIPING - the only cache of the adventure.  The good news is that it's only about a 600 meter walk on a level road to reach the location.
It would be so nice to camp here if you are able to get your vehicle to the viewpoint. We didn't get the truck and camper here but we did spend several hours enjoying the views and soaking up the sunshine.
You are looking for a large pop bottle blank. We didn't want to hide anything bigger here because it appears to be a popular area.

In order to find the true location of the cache you will need to solve:
JIGIDI PUZZLE
