Geocache Description:

This cache series pays tribute to a number of great “outdooring” movies that showcase incredible scenery & the human spirit & endurance to embrace & survive in the great outdoors. Take the time to watch the following film:

Into the Wild (2007)

OUTDOORING (noun: existing, happening, or done outside; verb: the act of getting outdoors, exploring and enjoying Nature)

Outdoors

This is one in a series of caches along a backroad/ATV-snowmobile trail system on the Chignecto Isthmus of Nova Scotia and the nearby Chignecto Isthmus Wilderness Area (CIWA) (click), a 3,750 hectare area of wetlands, conifer and mixed forests. The Chignecto Isthmus is a critical land bridge to the rest of North America and provides an essential natural corridor enabling movement of species (moose, bear, lynx) in and out of Nova Scotia.

All cache containers are small and winter-friendly, and little to no bushwhacking is required. Attributes & ratings pertain to the series as a whole.

Most of the trail(s) will be wet and muddy in the spring and after rain, buggy in the spring and summers, but great in the fall and a nice snowshoe/cross-country ski/snowmobile during the winter.

We have observed eagles, rabbits, raccoons, porcupines, coyotes, fox, deer, moose & bear while in this area.

Take care during hunting season & please keep the gate at the trailhead closed at all times.

The Bootecacher Team is committed to providing quality cache placements while showcasing the Maritime outdoors "off the beaten path".

Enjoy and Cache Safely.

Remember - the decision to search for any geocache (or to participate in any outdoor activities), and the responsibility for your own safety lies with you!
