Along an old overgrown AT trail on top of Sams hill off of either meany or hemlock road. Look for an old fire tower foundation easily visble from the trail at one of the highest points of the hill. Cache is a small geocaching capsule coated in camo tape hanging from small tree branch This cache is pretty long, very difficult steep hike on often overgrown trails. There is no official parking, though there are spots on meany and hemlock road where you can park on the roadside.
Sam's Hill is a 1670-ft hill and it is the highpoint in Charlestown, NH. The Sam's Hill Fire Tower: Built in 1939 with CCC funds and labor from the NH Forestry Department, was a 41' steel tower made by International Derrick Co. It was used on and off until 1946 and then dismantled with remains still there today.
