During the Old Pacific HWY road reconstruction decades ago, my father Brian along with a neighbor, used this turn out as a short cut to get onto the freeway in order to avoid having to back track all the way to Kalama in order to do so. After using the short cut for a few months, the authorities caught on and these jersey barriers were put in place to prevent further iuse. Just a fun story that I thought I would share with everyone.
