The Wolf Man Reborn
The Wolf Man was a lonely soul, left all alone on the Line Trail in Mission... He lived there, hoping for visitors for 11 years. He had 21 groups of visitors come and find him in his den in his 6 years as a night cache - his last official visitors were in 2018. buggirl1975 had a super fun rainy, night adventure chronicalled here. However, BRDman7 hurt his knee and could no longer come and visit him and make sure he was in good shape for visitors and made the sad decision to stop his visitations. A friend was to come and bring The Wolf Man home so he wouldn't sit lonely in the woods forever. But the friend never made it out. 2023 - buggirl1975, moicy and Adroit Seeker were on the trail, heading up into Blue Mountain and knew they would pass by his den. They stopped by and found him lonely, lamenting being archived, with his night tacks still showing the way. They knew he was special and needed to be brought to glory on another mountain. So he was lovingly brought home. His animal bite marks lovingly tended to. He had a new container placed inside and buggirl1975 carried him up the mountain with his puppy friends. There she found him a very lovely wooded area to rest and enjoy visitors again. Won't you please come and see The Wolf Man?

There are numerous options to get up to this part of Pinecone Burke... Take the prettier trails, or follow the Harper Road Access all the way up. All options involve a lengthy hike up over 350 metres elevation gain, in a non-cellular signal area. Please be prepared with a good offline map, battery charging capabilities and have filed a travel plan with someone in case you stay and visit too long...
You will need to climb the short bank to get to The Wolf Man's Den. He is snuggled in, near the very big burnt stump, close to a cluster of bigger boulders. Be gentle with his lid as it had to be repaired for this new adventure. He really likes to do that new fangled "selfie" thing with his visitors. If you'd like to include one with your log, he would be so very, very grateful. Enjoy!
