IGREXA SANTA MARÍA DO PORRIÑO
Considerada unha icona do Porriño, a igrexa de Santa María é a receptora da advocación da Inmaculada Concepción, sen esquecer que a súa importancia fai que sexa parroquial. Porén, a pesar de ser un elemento característico do Porriño, o templo non sempre formou parte da súa cultura.
Tanto os rexistros como as probas arquitectónicas revelan que nese mesmo lugar existía antes outro edificio, que estaba dedicado a San Xurxo. Aínda que non é posible saber cando se modificou a invocación.
A igrexa foi construída a mediados do século XVI, e o seu estilo é austero. Consta dunha nave central e dúas laterais, nas que podemos atopar imaxes de varios santos e da Virxe.
O CACHÉ: magnético. Atención que é unha zona concurrida de muggles.

SANTA MARIA DO PORRIÑO CHURCH
Considered an icon of Porriño, the church of Santa María is the recipient of the invocation of the Immaculate Conception, without forgetting that its importance makes it a parish. However, despite being a characteristic element of Porriño, the temple was not always part of its culture.
