Netoli lobio, pastatas esantis T.Ševčenkos 13 buvo pastatytas 1972 metais, jame anksciau buvo isikūręs Geologijos ir geografijos institutas. Instituto svarbiausios mokslinės veiklos kryptys buvo Lietuvos teritorijos gamtinių geografijos procesų ir kraštovaizdžio funkcionavimo tyrimas.
2016 m. institutas perkeltas iš T. Ševčenkos g. 13 į Akademijos g. 2. Pastatas buvo visiškai rekonstruotas ir dabar čia yra įsikūrus Valstybės Apsaugos tarnyba.

The building near the geocache, located at 13 T.Ševčenkos Street, was built in 1972 and previously housed the Institute of Geology and Geography. The Institute's main scientific activities were the study of the natural geographic processes of the Lithuanian territory and the functioning of the landscape.
In 2016, the Institute moved from 13 T. Shevčenkos Street to 2 Akademijos Street. The building was completely reconstructed and now houses the State Protection Service.
