The Riptides are an Ottawa punk rock band that formed back in 1998. Their sounds range from fast skate punk to an instrumental album of surf punk (2008's "Mental Therapy"), and everything in between. The band's lyrics have always had a bit of a cynical edge to them, making fun of everything from high school social circles ("We Hate Jocks"), the emo scene ("Emo Kills (Stop The Killing)"), car culture ("Dragstip Girl"), the punk scene ("Go Away"), and society in general ("$#!& Out Of Luck"). But there's always a moment for a circle pit at their shows!
