MK23 Wildlife Trail L - Long Eared Owl
Linford Lakes Nature Reserve at the north of the City saw the first ever ringing of a Long Eared Owl at the site. Whilst Long Eared Owls had previously been seen at Linford Lakes it had been a considerable number of years since this last sighting. This is testament to the work that the Parks Trust have put in over the years that a species has returned of it's own volition.
Whislt the Long Eared Owl is very special it's not the only species of owl you could spot around Milton Keynes. There are Barn Owls in a number of places so look out for them at dusk and at night and keep an ear out for their distinctive call.

This is one of 26 caches celebrating the flora and fauna of Milton Keynes, it's not just concrete cows and roundabouts. How many of our different plants and animals can you spot in our City? Please do add photos to yours logs
All the caches are on a walk near Willen Lake and can be easily navigated. They are all available from running the Wherigo cartridge which is available here: MK23 Wildlife Trail
Thank you to the Parks Trust and MKGees for their help and permission to set these caches.
