MK23 Wildlife Trail S - Swifts
As a new City with a number of new housing developments going up even today then you'll see swift boxes being put in the eaves of a number of those new houses (as well as retrofitted to older ones). This leads you to being able to see them swooping about all day.
In Wolverton there has been a concerted effort to provide as many nesting boxes as possible. Swifts return from migration to nest in May and June. Similar birds like swallows and house martins have similar behaviours and can be easily confused.
This is one of 26 caches celebrating the flora and fauna of Milton Keynes, it's not just concrete cows and roundabouts. How many of our different plants and animals can you spot in our City? Please do add photos to yours logs
All the caches are on a walk near Willen Lake and can be easily navigated. They are all available from running the Wherigo cartridge which is available here: MK23 Wildlife Trail
Thank you to the Parks Trust and MKGees for their help and permission to set these caches.
