3nd Annual Pride Dye & Maker's Workshop
Come join us in Lafreniere Park Sunday June 25 for our 3nd annual Pride Dye. This year we will expand the Dye portion of our June event to include a focus on discussing Making/building good geocache containers and working the projects you have currently started or are starting. Let's make stuff together!! This year we are encouraging folks to bring what supplies you think you will need for your projects...I'll be raiding the supply closet too. If you want to participate in the Tie Dye, as always bring your shirts...we will have some dyes but would appreciate any dye kit contributions this year. With a T-shirt and some rubber bands or string and a rainbow of dye bottles, we can make technicolor magic that you can wear. For ideas on Tie Dye design and preparation YouTube is your friend.
Specific to Makers Workshop part of the event, it is our goal to highlight cache quality and creation. We will discuss both the quality of the containers we are using and/or making as far as longevity of the container in both protecting the log and swag from the elements (as water and moisture big issues in Louisiana) and creating effective camouflage. jsc009 and rabbitjr have been working on costuming for Going Caching and have been using some interesting material for accessories. I won't give it away but they will bring some examples of what they have been working on so we can discuss how this might be utilized in cache making.
I will load up the igloos with ice and try to have water and gatorade on hand, if you would like to bring something else, please do...we will make room in the cooler. (Good beers are welcome)
Come for the activity, stay for the community, we will even set up a table where we can log and discuss trackables. Any help folks can provide with supplies or snacks will be appreciated. Your muggle friends are welcome. And please log you Will Attends so that we can gauge how many to expect.
