Geocache Description:

Soviet DUCK! has setup his third public Dead Drop in South Dakota. You may think a Public Dead Drop is an Oxymoron, however, this is a Soviet DUCK! operation, so all is good. Security is high for this location, with various monitoring options in play. Robot Deer, Honey Badger, and Hawk report all activities to Soviet DUCKs! monitoring center. Special bovine operatives are also known to be in the area to report on your activities.

This specific site was selected due to the amazing Duck Pool found rather near the drop. In fact, This particular drop was part of a "Selection Test" for the newest duck attempting to enter the "Soviet Duck" program. Soviet DUCK! rode shotgun as the recruit navigated to what he felt was a good drop location. Upon seeing the location, Soviet DUCK! agreed.

Space is limited at the drop, however, you can leave detailed messages to Soviet DUCK! in your log entry.

Cache is located on US Forest Service Road 199, which is open to all licensed motor vehicles. While I drove in with a SxS, I would highly suggest an SUV, Pickup or Jeep type vehicle. You may also walk or bike in from the trailhead.

This trail is seasonal for motor vehicles. It is open May 15th through Dec 15th. Late snow can delay the opening. Non motor vehicle access is year round.

Soviet DUCK! came in via the Schroeder Trailhead. The navigation took me on a ~15 mile trip ending on Forest Service Road 199 There are other options, maps are your friend. it is 1.9 miles straight line from the trailhead to the cache. I would think it is only about 2.1 miles of road, and that is the SAME road that you are on when you drive through the gate.

The terrain listed is likely as high as the cache itself might be. Access to the area could be considered higher, or just about right, depending on your choice of conveyance.
