Geocache Description:

Continuing the theme set by GCAndo in Toowoomba, here is the first of the POKE series in the Southern Downs.

An historical tribute to the many and varied types of windmills that pumped water from underground to enable the establishment of agriculture in our dry land.  In bygone eras, windmills proliferated on the Darling Downs, and today may examples remain - some still actively in use, but many are no longer in use for pumping purposes. The one you see today is still pumping, and filling the water tank beside it.

(GCAndo says "On car trips with the kids, along with punch buggies and pinch minis, they were punching each other every time they saw a windmill.  We toned it down a bit by suggesting that they poke one another.  Particularly between Toowoomba and Warwick, they poked each other prolifically!" This is no different to the other game of "pinch and a punch for the first day of the month" or in Mr D's case MUSTANG - I will let you decide what that means)

Clyde Simmons Park has a picnic setting with shade, along with an unusal sculpture down the back of the park. Take care while walking around, even tho the grass has been recently slashed, there are potholes that can swallow you up.

A small tool is supplied to retrieve the log. No writing implement is supplied. Remember, no name on log, no smilie face.

Congratulations to Gumnuts and her Blue Care client on being FTF. I wonder if one of them did the POKE thing?
