How often have you found unique caches that show the creativity of the cacher who hid them? They can be just about any unusual design. They intrigue the finders and often result in favorite points. You will soon be able to participate in an event that will help you create your own cache!
The Riderwood on Campus Geocachers is hosting a Maker Magic Event. Attendance at a Maker Magic event will earn you a souvenir. You do not need to participate in the cache creation to receive the souvenir.
At this event, those who wish to participate may bring something that can be made into a cache. This is an effort to avoid using pill bottles and peanut butter jars as containers. Bring your container and trade it for someone else’s. Then take the container home and create your own cache! As a guide, these containers should be big enough to hold a bison tube or a pill bottle.
You may enjoy this event if you have never hidden a single cache or have hidden hundreds. We will have years of geocaching experience at this event. We will discuss the best types of containers, the minimum items required in a cache, hiding and publishing the cache, and any other questions people may have.
Join us at Panera Bread, 12285 Tech Road, Silver Spring, MD. You aren’t required to buy food to attend, but their food is very good!
IMPORTANT: Geocaching HQ discovered a technical problem in distributing the souvenirs for Maker Magic events. To ensure that you receive the souvenir for this Event, post your "Attended" log after you attend the event and Geocaching HQ will automatically add the souvenir to your profile within a few days after the promotion ends on July 3, 2023. Thank you for your patience!
