The Budoni beach occupies the area between Punta di Li Cucutti and the promontory of Sant'Anna and overlooks a crystalline sea, with shallow water, suitable for children, with a beach of fine and clear sand.
The back beach area, on the other hand, is characterized by a dune area and a varied wetland (Li Cucutti pond, Salineddi pond, Morto pond and Sant'Anna pond).
These ponds are fed by seasonal streams including the Riu Budoni which flows, after a 15km journey, into the beach of the same name.
We are in Tanaunella (fox den) and in front of us the lush pine forest that offers shelter from the sun during the hottest hours.
A small bridge over the Rio Salamaghe leads to the Sant'Anna beach, with very fine white sand, which divides the sea from the pond and the latter is the place of our interest: it has a limited extension and tends to evaporate almost completely in the summer period, transforming seasonally into a thin sheet of water or even into a silty-sandy surface when dry.
It offers the opportunity to observe the many animal species that live there, such as herons and flamingos among others, and you can also admire the rich vegetation that enriches the entire area with colors in every season of the year.

La spiaggia di Budoni occupa l’area tra Punta di Li Cucutti e il promontorio di Sant’Anna e si affaccia su un mare cristallino, con fondale basso, adatto ai più piccoli, con un arenile di sabbia fine e chiara.
L’area di retrospiaggia invece è caratterizzata da una zona dunare e, da una variegata zona umida (stagno di Li Cucutti, stagno di Salineddi, stagno del Morto e stagno di Sant’Anna).
Questi stagni sono alimentati da torrenti stagionali tra cui il Riu Budoni che sfocia, dopo un percorso di 15Km nell’omonima spiaggia.
Ci troviamo in località Tanaunella (tana della volpe) e di fronte a noi la lussureggiante pineta che offre riparo dal sole nelle ore più calde.
Attraverso un ponticello sul Rio Salamaghe, si accede alla spiaggia di Sant’Anna, con sabbia finissima e bianca, che divide il mare dallo stagno ed è quest’ultimo il luogo di nostro interesse: ha un’estensione limitata e tende ad evaporare quasi completamente nel periodo estivo, trasformandosi stagionalmente in una sottile lama d’acqua o addirittura in una superfice limoso-sabbiose quando asciutta.
Offre l’opportunità̀ di osservare le tante specie animali che vi dimorano, come gli aironi e i fenicotteri tra gli altri, inoltre si può ammirare la ricca vegetazione che arricchisce di colori l'intera area in ogni stagione dell'anno.
