Geocache Description:

A grotto refers to a cave or cavern, either formed naturally or created artificially, that is often characterized by unique formations and is commonly found near bodies of water. The Rosh Hanikra grottoes exemplify this, as they are tunnels shaped by the erosive force of the sea acting on soft chalk rock. As a result, they showcase a captivating underground landscape and tunnel-like caves. Extending approximately 200 meters, these grottoes branch out in various directions, with some parts interconnecting. Initially, access to the grottoes was limited to proficient swimmers and divers, as the only means of reaching them was by sea. However, in 1968, a tunnel measuring 400 meters in length was excavated slightly above sea level, enabling easy foot access for everyone. Furthermore, a cable car was constructed to transport visitors from the cliff's top to the grottoes. This cable car is advertised as the world's steepest, boasting an impressive gradient of 60 degrees.

The cache is a magnetic nano located on the bridge that links the parking lot to the upper cable car station, there is no need to pay an entrance fee to get to it. This bridge is built right on the cliff's edge and can be used by people with disabilities. It provides a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea to the south. Once you find the cache, please be extremely cautious when removing it from its hiding spot, as there's a risk of it falling down the cliff if mishandled.
