Incredible Hulk
The Hulk is another main Marvel character although he didn't start out that way. He first appeared in "The Incredible Hulk" #1 in May of 1962. In that first issue Hulk was colored gray but there was a problem back then with the printing of gray colors. Beginning with the next issue he was always colored green. That title was cancelled after just 6 issues and for awhile he just made guest appearances in other comics. Eventually he got his own stories again in half of "Tales to Astonish" before finally receivng his own title again in 1968.
There have been two Hulk movies and several other movie appearances including all of the Avenger films. Eric Bana starred as the Hulk in the first movie but this was pre-Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ed Norton portrayed the Hulk in the first MCU Hulk movie but Mark Ruffalo took over the reins in all of the rest of the Hulk MCU appearances. There was also the famous TV show starring Bill Bixby back in the 1970's.
The Incredible Hulk's alter ego is nuclear scientist Robert Bruce Banner, inventor of the gamma bomb. He absorbed a vast quantity of gamma rays after risking his life to save a teenager during a test blast. Ever since that accident Bruce battles with becoming the Hulk who embodies the darkest, angriest, and most antisocial aspects of Banner's personality.
