Horseshoe Bay is located near the northwest edge of Adak Island. It's known to some for its access point to hot springs along the ocean's edge.  The cache is located about 2/3 of the way to the water.  Because the grassy slope is steep, there is a rope affixed to assist in making the trek down.  Once the terrain has been conquered, the cache itself is easy to find, thus the D/T rating.

This geocache is located on private land owned by The Aleut Corporation (TAC) and has been placed with TAC's permission. Recreational use of TAC land requires a Land Use Permit, available for a nominal fee. Use of TAC lands without a permit is considered trespassing. You can obtain your land use permit upon arrival at the Pat Kelly Airport Terminal. When you fly in, there is a TAC representative at the airport.  Alternatively visit the Aleut Real Estate office on Adak (907-592-2325) or the City Office. Please respect TAC's gracious opening of their lands to public use by obtaining the required permit and adhering to its conditions.
