Hillside Cemetery was established once it became clear the Troy Street Cemetery would not be able to accomodate all the residents of Richford. The newer cemetery's design and space were laid out to meet the capacity needs for the town, and is still going today. Hillside is the final resting place of many notable residents including a large number of Civil War Veterans, Franklin County Officials, Vermont politicians, and Richford's most successful brothel owner.
