Geocache Description:

01 July 2023, 16:00 - 21:00

Join the Central CT Cachers for an event at Andover Lake.  This event is at a private residence.  You are welcome to swim, bring your kayak, float, paddleboard or fishing pole.  No gas or electric engines are allowed on the lake and there is no public boat ramp- you MUST enter the water at the residence the coords will take you to.  The lake is accessed directly across the street from the residence. Do NOT go on any neighbors property.  Please be respectful of neighbors and others using the lake.  Bring your own chair, towel, sunscreen.

A "will attend" log or RSVP would be GREATLY appreciated.  Please note, there will be muggles attending as well.

The exact address is 369 Lake rd, Andover CT.

Food and drink:  Bring a potluck food to share if you would like.  You can write in your log what you'll bring, if you like.  A grill will be available.  Plates, utensils, napkins, cups provided. Bring your own beverage of choice and small cooler if you like.

Activities:  Kids are welcome to attend and swim but MUST BE supervised by an adult they attend with.  Bring your own towel, chair, sunscreen.  The lake is shallow and there is NO DIVING off the dock.  There is no lifeguard on duty and swimming is at your own risk.

There are no caches allowed around or in the lake, as it is all private property with no public access.  The Hop River Trail can be accessed one mile from the event, if you are interested.

There will be a duo playing music from 4 to 8 pm, with breaks (70's to today, pop, country).  This will be outside in the driveway.

There will be a campfire, to start around dusk. Consider bringing some wood or kindling to contribute, if you are able.

Parking:  You will need to park along Lake road.  Please pay attention and watch for cars while crossing the street etc.

The driveway is wheelchair accessible. The lakefront is more challenging.  Please contact the host if you need disabled assistance.

Prefer no pets as there is an older dog in residence, but contact host to discuss.

This event may be cancelled or postponed in the event of rain.  Please check this page. .

The Central Connecticut Cacher’s Night Out is normally an evening gathering on the second Tuesday of every month. We love to meet those that are new or interested in this great hobby! Let us know if this is your first event as we'd like to get acquainted. This event features new or rotating hosts every month, and changing locations. If you have an interest in hosting, please contact Katydid and Miles Stone (KD&MS). As host, you’ll arrange a location; get the coordinates; and copy and paste the event page and resubmit. Locations should be kid friendly, have no admission fee, and be within the Central Connecticut/Greater Hartford area. Cachers from outside of the area are also encouraged to host, but we do ask that the event itself be held in the central CT area.
