From 2006 to 2022, firefighterjake had a cache here called Who Will Remember Thomas Luce? After I found it in March of 2022, I thought of it now and then. I wonder who will remember me after I'm gone? Since Jake archived his cache last year, I couldn't seem to get Thomas out of my mind. Now that the cache was gone, no one will remember Thomas Luce! It nagged at me for months, until I decided I would replace the cache at this site. Will you remember Thomas Luce?
You will find the Cemetery off the Fire Tower Road. During the winter and mud season, you may have to park out on the tarred road, but we were able to drive up the Fire Tower Road when we placed the cache in mid-June. Just a short ways up the road you will notice a faint road crossing. It is a little more noticeable on the left, where it goes down to a home. On the right, you should see the cemetery sign just in the woods. This is as far as you'll be able to drive. Follow this old road (on foot) to the sign, turn right, and look for Thomas. The cache is about 20 feet away. It's stocked with kid SWAG and a DD gift for FTF.
For those cachers that are working on challenges, this cache gets you the town of Dixmont, the county of Penobscot, DeLorme map 22, and degree 57-58.
