Geocache Description:

Welcome to the North-Albanian Alps. To be more precise the Kelmend Region.

ABOUT THE HIKE:

A very nice hike connects the to lovely villages Vermosh and Lepushe. In the middle is the Mountain "Maja e Grebenit" which is 1840m high. You can do the hike from both villages and either go back to your starting location or hike from one village to the other.

When you start in Lepushe the elevation is about 500m and it takes you 3h to go up.

When you start in Vermosh the elevation is about 800m and it also takes 3h.

The hike is very beautiful, leading you through lovely nature and amazing mountain views. The 3h claimed time is also very generous. I am not a professional hiker and did it in 1.5h. So with 3h you are on the safe side. The trail is well marked throughout the whole hike. Just look for the red-white-red signs on trees and stones. Bring enogh water. Enjoy the view.

ABOUT THE CACHE:

It is not hidden at the summit of the mountain Grebenit, but close to it. In the north-east of the peak on the hiking trail is a hiking sign surrounded by some rocks. Behind the rock where the sign is painted on the cache is hidden. It's a little plastic box. See also spoiler pictures.

If you found it, feel also free to upload some nice pictures of you on the mountain. Maybe we can gather some nice impressions of the famous german painting "Wanderer above the sea of fog" by Caspar-David Friedrich.

Now good luck finding the cache and enjoying the hike, nature and stunning mountains in this area.
