Geocache Description:

This cache is a pill bottle hidden on the grounds of the old Galveston County Courthouse. This should be a quick park and grab but beware of muggles and bring your own pen. Free parking is available along the street and behind the building at a visitor's lot located at 20th and Avenue H/Ball Street, as well as a handicapped ramp to the building.

The grounds of the courthouse have multiple historical markers and monuments. Of note is one of the nine remaining Rosenberg fountains provided by Henry Rosenberg's estate to allow people and animals to have access to water.

Immediately inside the lobby is the lens from Galveston's South Jetty Lighthouse. This lighthouse was activated after WWI and deactivated during the 1980's. Note: If you participate in the U.S. Lighthouse Society's Passport Program, please visit the museum inside the courthouse during operating hours of 10-4 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Additionally, a replica of the USS Constellation, a 42-gun frigate, can be found near the back of the lobby. Close by is a huge anchor from the Civil War era, as well as multiple sabers that are believed to be older. Visitors can view a tombstone from a child's grave that was recently unearthed in a nearby neighborhood.

This cache is located approximately 7/10 of a mile from the cruise ports and Downtown Galveston.

The name of the cache comes from repeated comments by the public regarding the rich history found on the grounds and in the museum.
