Geocache Description:

This is a six-stage multi-state geocache that encourages teaming and cooperative efforts among geocachers. The stages are located in five different states. There is not a stage that is beyond 2 miles from one of five different interstate freeways. The whole shebang begins and ends in Texas.

I have placed several other multi-state geocaches in the past. People have had a lot of fun with them. One is still active and is a good one - go check it out if you want.

The vision for this geocache is that geocachers will form multi-member teams to complete this geocache. The teaming arrangement can be almost anything. It can be (a maximum of) 5 team members. But it can be smaller than that. A small team can be had where one geocacher covers multiple stages/states, or a single geocacher can complete all the stages if desired.

I almost named this geocache "Except For Ohio" because all of the stages are located in southern states... except for Ohio. I really like Ohio - good place.

Many thanks to meronjo2 for managing the Florida stage!

Listed below are "rules" that should be followed for this geocache. These may be obvious. They are here to keep the challenge and process consistent for everyone, and to promote the spirit of the geocache.

1. The geocacher who finds the first stage in Texas must be the same geocacher who finds the final stage in Texas.

2. Teaming is encouraged but not required. A single geocacher can find all the stages if he or she wishes.

3. A geocacher can play only once. If Tom teams up with Sue and Howard to complete the cache, he cannot then later team up with another group to complete the cache again, or just to help the other group.

4. Any member of one team must not provide any coordinates or codes to any member of another team.

5. Do not post any coordinates or codes in any online log.

6. If teaming with other geocachers to complete this geocache, a team name should be selected. Be creative! Make T-shirts!

7. If teaming with other geocachers to complete this geocache, the geocacher who finds the first stage must list all of the members of the team in an online log. The team name should also be included in the online log.

8. When signing the log sheet at the final stage, just the team name can be written (this is the reason for identifying all the team members in a preceding log), or all the names of the members of the team can be written. Whichever you prefer.

9. "Found It" logs should not be entered online by any of the geocachers on a team until that team signs the log sheet at the final stage.

10. The honor system is relied upon for some of these rules. So please be honorable.

Another important point...

Please be mindful and considerate of others when playing this geocache. Don't leave someone hanging. If you seek out and select a team member, stick with that person.

Here is an example... Say you found a stage and have coordinates for the next stage. Do not provide those coordinates to multiple people in that area. Select one team member in that area and stick with that person and accept their performance.

Having said that, I know that there can be an exception to that, right? There could be a case where a geocacher abandons the team. That would be a rare thing, but it could happen. Give your team member some time and patience, but if it becomes clear that person is not going to play, then you have to select someone else. Only do that if you have to.

The Table Of Awesome...

I will record the first (potentially 15) finders of this geocache (the first three teams) in the below Table Of Awesome. In another multi-state geocache that I own, I attempted to include all finders in a big table. That quickly became unmanageable. So on this one, it will be just the first three.

Honorable Mentions...

This geocache lends credibility to certain Honorable Mentions. Some that come to mind...

1. "Lone Wolf" - One geocacher finds all the stages.
2. "Loneliest Number Since The Number One" - Two geocachers find all the stages.
3. "Moe Larry Curly" - Three geocachers find all the stages.
4. "Chico Harpo Groucho Zeppo" - Four geocachers find all the stages.
5. "Fastest From Stage 1 To Stage 6" - I don't think I'll include this one.
6. Any other ideas? Let's hear them.
