A quick park and grab near this bridge.
The Hancock Bridge was opened in 1961, but was not the first bridge across the Bremer river at this point. The Harlin Road Bridge was opened in 1918 much lower down and hence subject to flooding. The new Hancock Bridge was expected to be high enough to avoid flooding, but this has not proven to be true.
