Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series named after wild berries that are found in the area. Not all are recommended as edible. If you are not sure,

don't pick it....don't eat it!

Black Huckleberries are my favourite wild berry of all time! They have a sweet yet tart flavour that makes them excellent to eat freshly picked, or to put them into pies, jams, baked goods, etc! First Nations people collected them to eat fresh, put into bannock or dry them out for later use!

You are travelling along the Wilkie Main Line (WML) running beside Hwy 39 near Mackenzie. FSR’s are used by industrial vehicles as well as by people hunting, fishing, collecting firewood, berry picking etc! Clouds of dust can be picked up by passing vehicles! The caches along this road have been placed where you can easily pull over to allow vehicles to pass! Each cache has a photo showing the parking area!  Caches are within metres of parking! You are in bear country, so be Bear Aware! Have fun searching for all of the caches in this series!

You do not need to climb any slopes to get this cache!

There is good opportunity for wildlife viewing just before or after this cache depending on which way you are travelling!

REMEMBER TO PICK UP THE CLUE FOR THE BONUS CACHE!
