Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series named after wild berries that are found in the area. Not all are recommended as edible. If you are not sure,

don't pick it....don't eat it!

Although Wild Black Currants are edible, they are not often found in profusion. They are a member of the gooseberry family.  First Nations people picked and ate them primarily as a fresh food source, but they were also added to bannock!

You are travelling along the Wilkie Main Line(WML) running beside Hwy 39 near Mackenzie. FSR’s are used by industrial vehicles as well as by people hunting, fishing, collecting firewood, berry picking etc! Clouds of dust can be picked up by passing vehicles! The caches along this road have been placed where you can easily pull over to allow vehicles to pass! Each cache has a photo showing the parking area!  Caches are within metres of parking! You are in bear country, so be Bear Aware! Have fun searching for all of the caches in this series!

There is an old trail just beside the parking coordinates. You can use it to get to the cache!
