Dundreggan is said to mean the dun of the great beast or dragon. It may have been called this because the skeleton of some huge prehistoric creature was found here. It is also the name of this Estate which covers around 10,000 acres. The Estate was run as a traditional deer estate before it was bought by the charity Trees for Life.
