Although High Bush Cranberries are edible, they have a tart, sour flavour. They can be used to make a tasty cranberry sauce. First Nations people used high bush cranberries to treat muscular cramps!
You are travelling along the Causeway Forest Service Road (CFSR) running beside Hwy 39 near Mackenzie. FSR’s are used by industrial vehicles as well as by people hunting, fishing, collecting firewood, berry picking etc! Clouds of dust can be picked up by passing vehicles! The caches along this road have been placed where you can easily pull over to allow vehicles to pass! Each cache has a photo showing the parking area! Caches are within metres of parking! You are in bear country, so be Bear Aware! Have fun searching for all of the caches in this series!
