Black Twinberries are not considered edible by humans, but some animals do eat them! First Nations people used the juice as a pigment for dyes, including as a hair dye!
You are travelling along the Causeway Forest Service Road (CFSR) running beside Hwy 39 near Mackenzie. FSR’s are used by industrial vehicles as well as by people hunting, fishing, collecting firewood, berry picking etc! Clouds of dust can be picked up by passing vehicles! The caches along this road have been placed where you can easily pull over to allow vehicles to pass! Each cache has a photo showing the parking area! Caches are within metres of parking! You are in bear country, so be Bear Aware! Have fun searching for all of the caches in this series! If you are heading to Mackenzie, turn RIGHT here for a short drive back to Hwy 39 (see the photo)!
