智泉大徳は讃岐国に生まれ、母は弘法大師の姉と伝えられている。
弘法大師の甥であり、十大弟子の一人である。
幼い頃より非常に優秀であったが、37歳の若さで入寂。
弘法大師はこれを大いに悲しまれ、この地に廟を築かれた。
Daitoku Chisen was born in Sanuki Province, and his mother is said to be the older sister of Kobo Daishi.
He is the nephew of Kobo Daishi and one of the ten great disciples.
He was very talented from an early age, but died at the young age of 37.
Kobo Daishi was greatly saddened by this and built his mausoleum on this site.
