TRAILS ARE OPEN FROM DAWN TO DUSK
The Union Trail series brings our love for hiking, biking, and geocaching together for all to enjoy. All caches are easily accessible from the marked trails year round. This cache is the first of 7 caches in this series. You will collect clues at each cache along the trails which will lead you to a bonus cache. The clue is located in the top of each cache and on the log sheet. There is some swag for the FTF including an unactivated trackable. Additionally, we are launching a trackable to commemorate this series. Feel free to pick it up, log it and drop it off somewhere cool!
This series will take you 3-4 miles and 1.5-2 hours depending on how you approach each cache. Cover is heavy in certain spots on the trails. Coordinates for the series were the determined using a handheld GPS so they should get you close but you may have to use your geosenses to land the smiley. Cache #6 is likely to be the most challenging from a GPS standpoint. If you encounter issues, go back to the trail and make another attempt.

To access this cache, park on campus at the posted parking coordinates and enter at the posted coordinates for the trailhead. Please do not attempt to access this cache directly from the street. Be safe while crossing Pleasant Plains Extended as traffic can sometimes be heavy. It is recommended that you cross away from the campus entrance so that you can access the median. If this small lot is full, there is ample parking north and south of this location.
The Union University trail system is to be enjoyed by Union students, faculty/staff, and alumni as well as the general public. The trail system has been constructed and is maintained by the local Jackson community. It includes approximately 6.5 miles of hiking, running, and mountain biking trails. The trail system is composed of a mix of beginner and intermediate trails.
