Welcome to the Brighton Township Veteran's Memorial. Township residents who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces are honored in a small, beautiful setting near the Brighton Township Municipal Building. This Memorial was dedicated in 2000 as a result of the dedicated service of a Veterans Memorial Committee and many others who contributed to the memorial design, site preparation, solicitation of funds and dedication ceremony. To these people, we are all grateful.
I have considered placing a cache here for years but never followed through. Now that I have finally cracked the top 50 cachers in Pennsylvania, I figured that I should do my part to hide a few more. I also realized that I do not have any currently functional multi caches. I tried a few multiple stage caches before, but they did not seem to work out. This should, hopefully, be a good one.
Use information found at the Memorial to determine the answers for the following questions. Those answers will substitute for the letters in the coordinates of:
N 40 42.ABC W 80 21.XYZ
A = Number of letters in the nationality of the major contributor from the Catholic Union of the USA.
B = Subtract the number of leaves in each band between the armed forces logos from the number of letters in the 6th line of the enscription.
C= Find the brick honoring a barracks of veterans from WWI. Add all of the digits of that barracks together.
X = Find the brick honoring Captain H. Kornman. What is the number in the B24 bomb group he was lead navigator for?
Y = What number appears the most on Supervisor George Wolf Jr.'s brick?
Z = Convert the month of the end of Robert Roberts' term as supervisor to a number.
The checksum for the numbers should be 36.
You can walk or drive to the final. It is not too far to walk and there is a closer parking location nearby.
