Buona caccia :)
ENGLISH
From this bank you can admire the splendid Villa Gabbianelli, a rare example of a perfectly preserved late fifteenth-century Venetian villa, one of the first to be built along the Sile.
Made around 1490, according to tradition it was the wedding gift of the Venetian noble Caterina Cornaro, Queen of Cyprus, to her bridesmaid Fiammetta. Stylistically it belongs to the early Renaissance, with late Gothic references, and the main facade is characterized by an orderly asymmetry. Despite being in the countryside, it takes up the layout of the spaces typical of the Venetian palace. We know from an eighteenth-century depiction that it had a barchessa on the western side, now lost.
Continuing along the Sile towards Cendon it is possible to find splendid landscapes and other historic villas of great value. Good hunting :)
