This is a river geocache and requires a boat to retrieve. A canoe or kayak is perfect. You might be able to get there in a small motor boat in high water.
Thanks to Stabeez for many wonderful geocaches along the Otonabee River over the years. This is just one more up Cavan Creek.
Cavan Creek flows into the Otonabee from the west. You can access the Otonabee and Cavan Creek from Whitfield's Landing, (a little further south along the Otonabee) where there is a free public boat launch. There are no portable toilets at the boat launch, but there is a dock and a paved boat ramp.
The Otonabee River can be busy during the summer and especially on weekends with boat traffic and wakes. Often early mornings during the day are quiet and peaceful. When placing this cache, we met our 25,000th cache find milestone and took lovely photos of a green heron.
I hope you enjoy my cache.
