Geocache Description:

Cordova Lake (pronounced "Kuh-DOE-vah" by locals) used to be known as "Deer Lake" but it seems now everyone calls it "Cordova" after the nearby town. There is a lot of Crown Land on ans surrounding this lake, creating a peaceful, quiet atmosphere. The Crowe River flows in from the north and out (south) at the dam into Belmont Lake, then on to Crowe Lake in Marmora, which eventually connects to the Trent Severn waterway.  When I was little, there was an operating Fish Hatchery here too. The rapids just below the dam are a favourite play spot for local teens.

I entitled this cache, "Lost" because this could be the starting point for a one kilometre bushwack west to a remote lake that few have seen. It has no roads and no cottages and is aptly named, "Lost Lake". The other reason why I named this "Lost" is because while Terry and I were out kayaking here one day, we neglected to tie up our kayaks when we went ashore, and you guessed it, the kayaks were both floating away. How we managed to get our kayaks back is a story you'll have to ask us about someday. Anyway, after that somewhat exciting event, we decided to be nice and place the geocache in an overhanging pine tree so you can stay in your boat and not get lost or have your kayak get lost on you.
