This is another Crown Island in Cordova Lake, which is sometimes called "Deer Lake" by the older locals.
Crown land is the term used to describe land under the stewardship of the federal or provincial governments. Authority for control of these public lands rests with the Crown of England. Less than 11% of Canada's land is in private hands; 41% is federal crown land and 48% is provincial crown land. The land of Canada is solely owned by Queen Elizabeth II who is also the head of state. The land is administered on behalf of the Crown by various agencies or departments of the government of Canada. All these islands on Cordova (Deer) Lake and much of the land west of the islands is all Crown Land.
Water geocaching can be a lot of fun, but comes with some unique challenges. Please check wind speed and direction. It can mean all the difference in the world while paddling. This geocache is going to require a paddle on a lake that can sometimes be very windy. Please plan your adventure carefully, on a day that has wind speeds of VR 5, or 10-15 km all day. We suggest you do not go at all if the wind speed is greater than 16 km or has gusts of 20-30 km. Have fun and stay safe.
