Geocache Description:

With Highway 4 eastbound from Port Alberni being closed due to the Cameron Bluffs Wildfire and its aftermath, it gives us limited choices for a day of Geocaching. Port Eagleeye, figgy30 & I headed over to the Kennedy Lake/Clayoquot Sound area with the intention of placing a series of cache's leading to beautiful Virgin Falls, thus the VF in the title of the caches. This is stunningly beautiful territory but parts of the roads are not in top shape, lots of potholes. We drove it in a pickup truck and had to use 4WD on a few of the hills. There is also one cross ditch which we were able to drive through no problem. It is roughly 20 miles from the highway turnoff to Virgin Falls. It took 1 hr and 45 minutes for the return trip. It is well worth the drive! We saw 3 bear, lots of quail, some with new chicks, and lots of different birds, squirrels etc. Take your time and enjoy this beautiful area!  We have placed 22 caches along this route. Kennedy Main/Clayoquot Main are active logging roads. Best to travel these roads on the weekend.
