Met trots maken wij bekend dat de GPS Adventures MAZE voor het eerst in Nederland te bezoeken is!
GPS Maze Nederland zal van woensdag 23 april tot en met zondag 27 april te bezoeken zijn in de Bonte Wever in Assen. Je kunt je bezoek op zaterdag dus combineren met het Kings & Queens 2025 event.
Een GPS Adventures Maze is echt wel uniek: tot nu toe vond het slechts enkele keren plaats in Noord-Amerika en tot begin 2025 slechts 9 keer in Europa. En in 2025 zal deze interactieve tentoonstelling voor de allereerste keer in Nederland plaatsvinden! Ideaal om de GPS Maze een bezoekje te brengen en een uniek Geocaching type te scoren op jouw eigen Geocaching profiel.

Een GPS maze is een interactieve tentoonstelling waarin de onderwerpen GPS en Geocaching voor alle leeftijdsgroepen worden toegelicht met een breed scala aan interactieve elementen. De tentoonstelling gaat over Geocaching en hoe je het kunt spelen. De geschiedenis van Geocaching wordt getoond, evenals de vele facetten binnen dit spel. Je kunt veel dingen vinden die je altijd al wilde weten over Geocaching, bijvoorbeeld verstopplaatsen, D- en T-beoordelingen, alle soorten caches, trackables of speciale caches. Kortom alles wat met dit spel te maken heeft. De tentoonstelling duurt vaak meerdere dagen, vóór, tijdens of na een MEGA- of GIGA-event.
Het woord maze betekent doolhof. Aangezien de eerste tentoonstellingen gestructureerd waren als een doolhof (1 weg in, 1 weg uit). Het concept van de tentoonstelling is ontwikkeld door Geocaching HQ. Ook bij GPS Maze Nederland zal je je wanen in een doolhof. Maar, wees niet bang, het is een one-way doolhof. Je kan dus niet verdwalen.
De allereerste GPS Adventures is gemaakt door Groundspeak, tentoonstellingsmaker Minotaur Maze Exhibits, ontwikkelingssponsor Trimble en technologie bijdragers Magellan en Digital Globe. De eerste GPS MAZE in Europa is georganiseerd door de Tsjechische Geocaching organisatie: Czech Association of Geocachers (CAGeo). Zij hebben al meerdere keren deze tentoonstelling met groot succes verzorgd. In 2025 is de eerste GPS Maze in Nederland, gemaakt en geproduceerd door leden van het Drents Geocache Event.
De GPS Maze zal op woensdag 23 april om 13:00 officieel geopend worden en sluit deze op zondag 27 april om 17:00. Tussen deze twee momenten kun je de GPS Maze gratis bezoeken tijdens de volgende openingstijden:

Ein GPS-Maze ist eine interaktive Ausstellung, in der die Themen GPS und Geocaching für alle Altersgruppen mit einer Vielzahl interaktiver Elemente erklärt werden. Die Ausstellung behandelt Geocaching und wie man es spielt. Die Geschichte des Geocachings wird gezeigt, ebenso die vielen Facetten dieses Spiels. Sie können viele Dinge finden, die Sie schon immer über Geocaching wissen wollten, wie Verstecke, D- und T-Bewertungen, alle Arten von Caches, Trackables oder spezielle Caches. Kurz gesagt, alles was mit diesem Spiel zu tun hat. Die Ausstellung dauert oft mehrere Tage, vor, während oder nach einem MEGA- oder GIGA-Event.
Das Wort "maze" bedeutet Labyrinth. Da die ersten Ausstellungen als Labyrinth strukturiert waren (ein Weg hinein, ein Weg heraus), wurde das Konzept der Ausstellung von der Geocaching HQ entwickelt. Auch beim GPS Maze Nederland wird man sich in einem Labyrinth befinden. Aber keine Sorge, es ist ein Einbahn-Labyrinth. Du kannst also nicht verloren gehen.
Das erste GPS-MAZE in Europa wurde von der tschechischen Geocaching-Organisation, der Czech Association of Geocachers (CAGeo), organisiert. Sie haben diese Ausstellung bereits mehrmals mit großem Erfolg durchgeführt. Und in diesem Jahr ist das erste GPS-Maze in den Niederlanden von Mitgliedern des Drents Geocache Events erstellt und produziert worden.

A GPS Adventures Maze is truly unique: so far, it has only occurred a few times in North America and up until 2024, only 7 times in Europe. And for the very first time in 2025, this interactive exhibition will take place in the Netherlands! A GPS maze is an interactive exhibition that explains the subjects of GPS and Geocaching for all age groups with a wide range of interactive elements. The exhibition is about Geocaching and how to play it. The history of Geocaching is shown, as well as the many aspects within this game. You can find out many things you've always wanted to know about Geocaching, such as hiding places, D and T ratings, all types of caches, trackables and special caches. In short, everything related to this game. The exhibition often lasts several days, before, during, or after a MEGA or GIGA event.
The word "maze" means labyrinth. The first exhibitions were structured like a labyrinth (one way in, one way out). The concept of the exhibition was developed by Geocaching HQ. At the GPS Maze Nederland, you will also find yourself in a labyrinth. But don't worry, it's a one-way labyrinth. So, you can't get lost.
The first GPS MAZE in Europe was organized by the Czech Geocaching organization: Czech Association of Geocachers (CAGeo). They have successfully organized this exhibition several times. But in 2025, the first GPS Maze in the Netherlands is made and produced by members of the Drents Geocache Event.
