Get sidetracked in Croydon!
Given that:
1. I had to miss the end-of-June Pint Amongst Friends event (missing not only the good company but also the chocolate cake this fine establishment has to offer),
2. I've recently found out that there used to be a train station almost next door, and
3. I love the SideTracked series,
I came to the conclusion that this place needs a SideTracked event.
Come along for the usual geochat (and optional chocolate cake) to The Green Dragon on Thursday the 13th July 18:30-19:45.
Central Croydon Station
Central Croydon station opened on 1 January 1868. It was not a very long lived station: it closed in 1871, then reopened in 1986 and permanently closed in 1890. Croydon Town Hall is built on the former site of the station.
