It is known that there was a Methodist meeting in Steeple Claydon as early as 1830. The central part of West Street Chapel was built in 1862 and then enlarged in 1893. The Chapel now has a modern sanctuary, 2 kitchens, a school room and toilets.
The Chapel is now part of the Well Street (Buckingham) Methodist circuit and services are held every Sunday either in the afternoon or evening depending on the time of year.
The cache a nano (but not magnetic) is nearby. There are houses nearby so stealth is advised
