The cache lies at the eastern entrance to Wilfred Taylor Reserve, which can be accessed via a small sealed walkway under Panatalinga Road.
The reserve was named after Wilfred Charles Taylor (1894–1976), who served in the 3rd Light Horse Regiment during WWI and was a member of the Noarlunga District Council from 1937 to 1965. Wilfred was one of seven children of Richard and Mary Taylor, who moved to Morphett Vale around 1850. Their residence, ‘Thrushgrove’, was built in the mid-1840s and remains visible today on the southern side of Wheatsheaf Road, opposite the reserve’s car park.

Cyril Patrick Taylor owned the reserve land from 1923, and after his death, it was passed on to his daughters. The land was transferred to the District Council of Noarlunga in 1967 and officially zoned as public parkland in 1968.
