The Indoor League 2023: Round Eight
Toad in the Hole
This is primarily a geocaching event where cachers old and new can meet, share stories, plan trips, swap puzzle hints and exchange trackables. If this is your first event please say so in your log and we'll make a special effort to make you feel welcome.
After the success of the first Indoor League in 2019, and the Covid-affected 2020 season, the Indoor League is back!
Throughout 2023 there will be a series of ten events in and around the city of Lincoln, usually on the last Sunday of each month and each providing the opportunity to compete with other geocachers and win points in the Indoor League! Each event is a stand-alone event and you don't need to take part in the sport to attend- spectators are welcome and no purchase is necessary to log the event.
Please log that you 'Will Attend' so I can inform the venue of likely numbers.
Points can be accumulated throughout the season to increase your chances of winning the League Trophy at the end of the season. We use the Formula One scoring system, with 25 points for a win, 18 for second, 15 for third then 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1.

Toad in the Hole
Toad in the Hole is a very simple traditional pub game played by throwing coin-like tokens or 'toads' onto a lead-topped table with the aim of getting it into the hole. Predictably, there are many regional variations of this game, one of which is illustrated in this video
In short, you get a point for getting it onto the table, 2 points for getting it into the hole but no points if it hits the back board or falls off the table. Everyone who attends will take turns throwing the toads, accumulating points and with everyone taking the same number of throws overall. The number of throws overall will depend on the number of players who attend. The top four scorers will then play off in a semi final and then a final.
