I see mom putting on her shoes, soooo I’ll go pout in my cage and look as sad as possible. Wait! I hear my leash, jingle. It has a strange number on it. Oh Boy! I know that means I get to go. Mom put on my harness and we head out to the jeep. There she goes again covering up the seat with a soft blanket. She hates that I leave hair all over the jeep. Mom hates how dirty I get dad’s jeep. While we travel I sleep, so I am ready to run as soon as I get out. I can tell when mom is slowing down and turning more corners so I sit and look out the window. There are woods and lots of potential smells. I am getting excited. Mom lets me out and she grabs my leash, a small black thing she talks to, and another small black thing she looks at with a straight line. We head out on the trail and I try to not let mom get too far behind me. I always have to return to her and tell her to move faster. Off we go, after a while mom stops and walks into the woods and stares at a tree. She does not know that I already found something under this log I am standing on. I just stand here and she is wandering all over, finally she comes to where I am standing on this log and reaches down and picks up this thing that does not belong in the woods. She puts it back a little later and we move on to another one. Every now and then we come up on these other humans. I always see them before mom, so I run back and walk at her side. Sometimes I hide behind mom, because I do not like the humans touching me. I always have fun and sleep well on the ride home.
