The Ian Fleming's James Bond series of geocaches is to honor the amazing original books (not the movies). It is placed along a section of General Crook trail originating from the Rim Trailhead. Designed for biking, this powertrail is spaced .25-.5 miles between geocaches (because 0.1 mile spacing on a bike is very tedious).
Casino Royale is Ian Fleming's first novel about James Bond. The plot relates to the Special Branch; aka MI6 sending agent 007 to France to outplay the agent Le Chiffre who is trying to avoid being lethally punished for embezelling money from the French Communist Party trade union. Essentially the plan is to bankrupt both Le Chiffre and the union, which is viewed as a subversive organization that would oppose NATO. Bond survives several assasination attempts and finally wins, only to be captured and tortured by Le Chiffre until the latter is killed by a SMERSH agent. The story introduces Bond, M, Felix Leiter, and Rene Mathis. He falls in love with his co-agent Vesper Lynd, only to learn she was a double agent. It begins the development of the character Bond, and introduces the entire basis for future stories. The 2006 movie starring Daniel Craig is remarkably similar to the book in many ways, except for location and time.
Casino Royale, the geocache is hidden close to the trailhead, and is the closest to a Park N Grab.
