Allumbah was the original name of the village and in1910 was renamed Yungaburra. The name was taken from the Yindinji word Janggaburru, which means Silver Ash.
The Allumbah Heritage walk starts at the Our Lady of Consolation and St Patrick Church on Mulgrave Road. The entire track is 4.5 Km and takes approx 2 hours to complete.
