"To Blow Ones Own Horn"
This Term orginated in Roman times, and was translated into English early on as a phrase to refer to bragging about ones own accomplishments and/or to promote yourself.
in 1576 Abraham Fleming wrote: "I will sound the trumpet of mine own merits." It was a cliche by the mid-nineteenth century.
Today, this phrase is said in many differnt ways. For me its been "Toot my own horn" for as long as i can remember.
