This cache - Chicago Cubs

Originally named the Chicago White Stockings (no relation to the White Sox), the team changed their name a couple of times before settling on "Cubs" in 1903.     Like the Boston Red Sox, they had a very long gap between World Series wins - from 1908 to 2016.

Their most famous player of all time is Ernie Banks, who was nicknamed "Mr. Cub".  He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977, and was named to the Major League Baseball All-Century Team in 1999.
