This is one of a series hidden on the Wapsipinicon River Water Trail. These will be released for the IGO Hike and Seek event: Horsin’ Around in Bremer County. One definition of horsing around is to indulge in frivolous activity or play, another is to goof off; synonyms include boisterous and aimless. For this series of caches on the Wapsi River between the Island Access and Zell Access on C-33, I chose to name them for animals that from time to time may seem to be playing and have been seen on this stretch of the river.
The Wapsi River Greenbelt project is part of Bremer County Conservation Board’s commitment to water quality, habitat preservation, and recreation. You will want a kayak or canoe to travel to these caches. Depending on water levels and experience with locating caches, plan 3-4 hours on the river for this power trail.
This river is one of the best protected waterways in Iowa. Enjoy the journey, embrace the adventure, and travel safely.
